I’m a licensed therapist and business coach, helping therapists and wellness professionals achieve financial success and make a meaningful impact on vulnerable communities through building sustainable nonprofit group practices. I teach everything from understanding the nonprofit landscape and mastering effective financial strategies to marketing, community engagement, and leadership development. It’s all with a focus on helping mental health professionals transition from grueling and undercompensated agency work to the rewarding and fulfilling work of running a nonprofit group practice.
As a PsyD and LMFT, I’ve always loved my face-to-face clinical work with clients, but thirteen years ago, I knew something needed to change. While my work with clients brought purpose and passion to my life, I couldn’t keep up with the high caseloads, the lack of control, and my mounting symptoms of burnout. I wasn’t happy with what I was earning. Every time agency priorities took precedence over what was best for my clients, I died a little inside. I knew solo private practice wasn’t for me; I didn’t want to charge high private pay rates to the privileged few who could afford them, and I needed a team of like-minded professionals around me. But I didn’t know what to do.
At first, I tried working my way up the chain in agency work—clinical supervisor, manager, director. But it still wasn’t the career I was yearning for: making a meaningful impact on the clients who need services the most while also achieving my financial goals and thriving in my personal life. Ever since grad school, everyone had told me that mental health providers can’t make good money, that keeping a truly altruistic spirit meant I’d never be financially stable, that the healthcare system is broken and this is as good as it gets.
But I wanted to prove them all wrong. And I found a way.
I started my nonprofit group practice part-time while still working at an agency, and everything started to change. I built my practice from the ground up, leveraging my deep understanding of organizational psychology and nonprofit management. My nonprofit has been thriving for over a decade! When I had my first child, my nonprofit group practice allowed me to step down from agency work completely without sacrificing financial stability for my growing family. Today, I see clients 3 days per week, I supervise clinicians, and I spend two full days home with my sons. I can build the life I want for my family, while also leading a team that is meeting crucial needs in my community.
Now, I get to bring all my experience and success to the table through my coaching, offering you the complete, detailed roadmap I wish I’d had thirteen years ago. My new mission is to help therapists and wellness professionals launch nonprofit group practices that thrive as much as mine, supporting strong clinical teams in making an invaluable impact on their communities.
You can have everything you’ve been told is impossible. I want it all for you. Reach out, and we’ll make it happen together.
