My Story: Why I Refused to Choose Between Purpose and Stability
I became a therapist because I wanted to help people heal and grow. But like so many of us, I started out in community mental health; heavy caseloads, low pay, and feeling undervalued. I never opened a private practice because I knew it wasn’t the right path for me. But I’ve supported countless therapists who built private practices, only to find themselves unfulfilled because they couldn’t truly serve their communities.
That tension pushed me to build HOPE Counseling Center, a nonprofit practice I’ve sustained for over 13 years. It allows me to serve vulnerable communities and support my family. Now, throughThriving Impact, I help other therapists create the same kind of practice.
